This relatively undisturbed landscape of artificial hills and native grasses also became prime wildlife habitat.

Today, Bunker Hill Hunting Resort and Shooting Sports Center --- named for these prominent features in the prairie --- covers a large portion of the abandoned government facility.

Bunker Hill's abundant wildlife
With over 2,000 acres (1,000 in controlled shooting), Bunker Hill offers some of the finest upland bird, waterfowl, and big game hunting available in Nebraska.

We are also fortunate to be bordered by a federal research center covering over 30,000 acres, which offers some of the most spectacular waterfowl migration in the world.

A natural convergence
Bunker Hill is located in the heart of the Central Flyway --- the world's most populated waterfowl migration route --- in an area known as the Rainwater Basin.

As a result of lying squarely in the center of a pinch point in the Flyway, the Rainwater Basin becomes temporary home each year to a vast majority of the North American birds migrating over the continent.

Simply put, Bunker Hill offers a hunting experience that's "front row center" to the largest migration convergence on the globe.
